Design Vodcast
These vodcasts critically analyze landscape architecture and other urbanism design projects focussing on spatial design including its principles and theoretical foundations. The vodcasts broaden these terms to reflect upon built works including their successes and failures as well as highlight unique opportunities to apply inter-disciplinary concepts such as environmental psychology, sustainable development, and climate resilience.
VODCAST OBJECTIVES
To integrate the spatial-based theoretical foundations of landscape architectural design within an expanding design vocabulary.
To synthesize the verbal & visual language of landscape architectural design and urbanism within its application of historical & contemporary projects.
To enable the application of clear and precise landscape architecture design principles and their terminologies in the design process.
To contribute to the creation & management of landscapes which accommodate ecological and human considerations and its discourse.
To ultimately create spaces which have a deeper meaning to the humans which activate those designed places.
ABOUT THE SHOW
The Landscape Architecture Design Video Podcast is about landscape architecture design. It focusses on analyzing and characterizing design principles and design theories as applied to videos and images of existing built works around the world.
The vodcast episodes include built works I have visited in order to communicate the phenomenological qualities of the design. We interact with a 'place' through perception, cognition, then a subjective experience. The vodcasts critically review frameworks for spatial design and discuss their efficacy as a design structure when applied to creative problem solving.
In addition to project reviews, the format of the show includes interviews with creative professionals, discussions of technology, and examinations of salient topics impacting spatial design of landscapes. I deliver the vodcasts with humor, humility, and honesty while providing critical and thoughtful perspectives.

VODCASTS AS A LEARNING TOOL
Apply fundamental principles and their vocabulary as a core competency in landscape architectural education.
Better understand the processes of the landscape and the ways in which it is perceived in both time and space.
Review case studies which illustrate the applications of design principles.
Provide a spatial framework to build and organize your aesthetic structure.
Encourage you to field sketch and draw with these perspectives at the forefront of thought and purpose.
